MEETING MINUTES

(Following Presentation of Certificates & Badges), Meeting opened at 2000 hrs

Welcome: The Chairman John Bayliss welcomed members to the meeting

6. Minutes of the Meeting held on the 9th February 2010
These were read, confirmed and signed as a true record

7. Matters arising from the Minutes:
There were no matters arising

8. Correspondence:
County Benevolent Fund – Fund Raising – Quiz Sheet. The Branch has 4 members interested in the quiz

9. Treasurers Report: Bill Watson - Branch Finances are as follows:
Ordinary Acc:  £1269.00
Business Acc: £4224.00
         Totals = £5493.00

10. Branch Welfare Report: Nothing to report from Kathy & Irene

11. Poppy Appeal: Bob King - Banked £37,800 – Bob has received   information of new Banking details which runs from 2009 – 2010Sept

12. Membership: John Crisp – There is a new form. Mr Cunningham’s membership has now been sorted

13. Any other Business:

a) Bob King: Attended meeting for A.F.D and reported that the Suffolk County Rally will not be able to take place on the same day as A.F.D, it would have to take place on another day (Maybe a Sunday)

The Branch Representative Is C.Kirby, he is our liaison officer between the Branch and the Council – working with the various Departments

b) Kessingland - 22 April 1430hrs. There will be a dedication service for the American Bomber, which went down during the 2nd World War. Standard Bearer (if possible) to be in attendance.

c) Bob King proposed allocation of £200 to A.F.D – discussion followed re allocation of monies – Band etc
AFD is indeed a good way of raising the profile of the Local Branch of the RBL
C.Kirby seconded proposal – Carried

d) Brian Bartrum – Recruitment Officer for Suffolk is not sure whether he can make the AFD this year. It has been proposed that Jan & Tim Piggott speak with the Treasurer and Captain Les Jackson with a view to setting up our own stall at the AFD.

e) John Crisp – Proposed for a donation to the Fine City Chorus for the Concert held in Dec 2009 - £80

Discussion followed and B.King seconded the Proposal - all were in favour

f) Brian Round – Corton Festival is to be held in June 2010 date still to be confirmed. Would the Branch be interested in attending. Could be used to Fund Raise for our Branch funds

Brian also attended, with the Standard, a parade at Bury St Edmunds to welcome the RAF based at Honnington, back from Afghanistan  
There were 30 Standards in attendance

g) Bill Watson – Wanted it noted in the minutes that the Cadets were a credit and felt a letter of thanks should be sent. Branch Sec said a letter of thanks would be sent soonest

h) Branch Secretary – Attended G Group meeting held in Bungay
1) The Chairman is to hold a Chairman’s Meeting only – in March
2) The need to bring the RBL forward into the 21st Century any suggestions – a short discussion followed
